रक्त नमूना कैसे लिया जाता है?
रक्त नमूना लेने के लिए, ऊपरी बांह पर एक टर्निकेट (इलास्टिक) बैंड टाइट रूप से लगाया जाता है। रोगी से पूछा जाता है कि उन्हें मुठी बनाने के लिए कहा जाए। यह नसों में रक्त भरने में मदद करता है और रक्त को एकत्र करना सरल बन जाता है। सुन्दरता रहित की तरह नीडल डालने से पहले त्वचा को साफ किया जाता है ताकि जीवाणु दाखिल न हों। नीडल फिर ऊपरी बांह की नस में डाली जाती है और रक्त नमूना वैकूटेन में एकत्र किया जाता है।

द्वितीय पॉलीसाइथीमिया के कारणों में हृदय या फेफड़ों की बीमारियाँ, शराब की अत्यधिक सेवन, सिगरेट पीना, जिगर या गुर्दे की बीमारी, ट्यूमर जो एरिथ्रोपोएटिन उत्सर्जित करते हैं जो रक्त कोशिकाओं के उत्पादन को प्रोत्साहित करता है, और दुर्लभ वंशानुगत हीमोग्लोबिन में शामिल है जो शरीर को पर्याप्त ऑक्सीजन मुक्त नहीं करता।
