When should you not have a fasting blood sugar test done?
You should not have a fasting sugar test done if you have eaten anything before the test.

For fasting sugar you cannot eat anything. For post prandial you can eat a banana before the test.
This is because the body digests the last meal (post dinner) and releases glucose in the blood stream which is detected in the fasting test.
Elevated post prandial glucose levels are levels which are found after a meal that rise sharply and can be detected in post prandial tests.
PPBS stands for post prandial blood sugar test. This test is done to measure the level of blood glucose exactly two hours post eating a meal.
When people eat a meal, especially when it contains carbohydrates, it is normal for them to have a temporary spike in their sugar level
