Low hemoglobin is a symptom of anemia caused specially due to underlying medical conditions and a poor diet.

Anemia does have prominent symptoms such as fatigue and pale skin which indicates low hemoglobin count. However, it is recommended to get a CBC test done to diagnose anemia.
The symptoms of anemia comprises of breathlessness, fatigue, brittle nails, chest pain and unexplained paleness of the skin.
A hematology analyzer measures hemoglobin via a colorimetric method. It works by a system based on the principle of reflectance photometry. Diluted blood is mixed with reagents containing potassium ferricyanide and potassium cynide.
Mild anemia can happen due to faulty diets or certain medications. However, the prominent symptoms are cold hands and feet, tiredness, chest pain and shortness of breathe. If you are experiencing these symptoms consider taking a blood test to know your iron levels.
